One extended voyage through the Land Down Under has been cancelled in the wake of the fatal incident of an senior lady who was stranded by the cruise liner on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been trekking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The ship departed without her and returned later that day after the crew discovered the lady was missing.

A large-scale search operation found her person the following day.

Officials are looking into the event, alongside law enforcement and the official investigator.

The CEO of the voyage organizer stated that guests and staff on the vessel were notified that the rest of the cruise had been terminated due to the "sad loss and prior engine troubles".

In a statement, he added that passengers would be provided a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to coordinate the homeward trips of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

Officials also released an updated announcement, and said they had "issued a order to the Captain" preventing any new passengers from boarding the vessel.

The representative said that they would attend the vessel in the port city upon its coming back.

The ship initially left the coastal city on October 24th, and was only 48 hours into the journey at the time of the 80-year-old's death. The tropical location was the initial destination on the journey.

Guests on the vessel - who typically pay substantial amounts of money to join the cruise - were taken there for a daily excursion with the option of walking or snorkelling.

The daughter of the victim said that her relatives was "surprised and saddened that the liner left the location after an organised outing without my mother".

Through her comments, she described her parent as an "active elderly person" who was a affiliate of a walking organization.

"From the little facts we have been told, it looks that there was a breakdown of care and common sense," she said.

She continued that she hoped the inquiry would be able to determine what "the organization should have undertaken that might have protected Mother's existence".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm day, and mum became unwell on the uphill trek," she stated.

"She was asked her to return, without accompaniment. Then the vessel sailed away, apparently without performing a passenger count.

Company Reaction

Through an announcement, the Head verified that the organization was "collaborating extensively with officials to aid their inquiry".
